There's 'no air to clear' on Canucks GM Mike Gillis's charge

Toronto general manager Brian Burke says there is no need to straight things up with Vancouver counterpart Mike Gillis regarding tampering allegations when the Canucks meet the Maple Leafs on Saturday at General Motors Place.

"I know there was a lot of yapping going on in Vancouver the last little while, but you noticed none from Toronto," Burke said. "I'm certainly not going to pour any gasoline on a fire that as far as I'm concerned doesn't exist. When other organizations talk or complain about the Leafs, I ignore it by and large."

The Canucks did several complaining about the Leafs in recent weeks, alleging tampering by both Burke and Toronto coach Ron Wilson. Earlier this month, the NHL fined the Leafs an $25,000 for comments Wilson made in late June about the Leafs' interest in Henrik and Daniel Sedin, who were about to become unrestricted free agents.
